First Day of 4th + 7th Grade!

First day of 4th + 7th Grade for the girls!!
Bear asked to wear a uniform too, so our sweet neighbor made a tie for him.

He loves to be part of whatever is going on around our house . . .

And he was sad to see the girls go back to school -
but so excited to get to drop them off again!

To school bright and early with Ruby!

Love their excitement!

Parents Coffee with PTO out in front of the school -

The 7th Graders walked to lunch after school got out at 11:00 a.m. -
and did a little shopping together in Ranchmart.

The Schlicks and Flanagans met Mike and me with Kate
to celebrate the younger kids' first day too!

Back 2 School - Special Family Dinner

I decided to make an extra special back to school dinner for the family - because why not celebrate? As much as I loved our summer together, I'm also excited for them and their new school year excitement and fall sports starting this week too!

So we celebrate! New beginnings, changing of the seasons and blueberry cheesecake!

Sneak peak of Bear's tie for the 1st Day of School . . .

I made my favorite blueberry cheesecake for dessert. It was my grandmother Virginia's recipe, and my Mom made it for years for me, especially on my birthday every year!

Back 2 School, Meet Your Teacher Day!

The long anticipated day finally arrived, the girls found out their teachers, schedules and got to go into the school to check out their rooms, or in Molly's case - her homeroom now that she is an official middle-schooler. The girls made sure we arrived early!

The 7th Graders are ready and SO HAPPY to be in the new
middle-school wing with the 8th graders!

{Emory, Molly, Margaret, Anna, Campbell}

Love the new middle school area at Cure' of Are - it's just perfect for these 150 kids to have a space of their own to learn and study.

Kate got to check out her new 4th grade classroom and was so excited to be with her good friend, Ruby again!

Of course - they picked desks right next to one another - we will see how long the teacher lets them sit together. :)

SO excited to get the teacher she prayed and hoped to get! Mrs. Cocumelli!

Let's be honest - the main reason Kate was so excited to get into the school a day early was to decorate her locker. ;)

4th Graders all ready!

{Ruby, Kate, Victoria, Harper}

Kate hand picked out exactly what she wanted in her locker this year . . .

She likes to be organized.
Love her little "rug" for her locker.

Learning 2 Fly Silks Class - Kate's Turn!

Three years ago, Molly and I took a Mother/Daughter Silks class at Learning 2 Fly
and I promised Kate when she was almost 10 we would do the same thing together -
and yesterday we did it!

It was SO MUCH FUN!

Kate was so strong and brave!
Ready to try anything!

The other classmates didn't show up - so we had the studio all to ourselves and a private lesson with the instructor!

I was nervous to try a few things, but Kate's attitude made me not able to give up!

Kate's been climbing trees and playing "trapeze" on our tree swing since was 2, so I think she was made for this kind of thing! She was in heaven!

So high!

Monkeying around . . .

These are the days . . .

We made our silks into "cocoons" at the end of class and it was so relaxing.

The Balloon Glow at Union Station

On the way home from the Chiefs game we stopped downtown to check out the hot air balloons at the Great Ballon Glow event on the lawn between the WW1 Memorial and Union Station. It was a beautiful sight to see at the sun was setting!!

Was fun to watch them blow up the balloons. . .

Everybody watch out!

The Girls' First Chiefs Game at Arrowhead Stadium!

It was a GORGEOUS late Summer/early Fall Saturday afternoon and we decided to surprise the girls with tickets to their first Chiefs game! It was the 2nd pre-season game of the year year and Mahomes was playing! They wore their #15 Mahomes jerseys with pride!

The atmosphere as you walk through the parking lot is electric and the girls could feel it!

Who's excited!?!?

The girls were in awe of all the pre-game celebrating and rituals . . .

The girls have a solid understanding of football thanks to their Dad who teaches them as much as he can about the game . . .

The snacks were a hit too, of course.

Love days like this . . .

Bluebird sky - and we WON!
