Spring Swing Festival with the Dennos!

Kalyn and I took the girls to the Spring Swing Festival
this afternoon - so much fun having them back in KC this week!!

Our Week in Pix!

Our last week of Gymnastics classes for the year! The girls didn't want to stop -
but it's way too gorgeous outside to be inside a gym right now!

I sent subliminal hints to the girls with my shirt -

Kate still loves to color and draw and use glitter glue like there is no tomorrow . . .

Molly cleaning out her backpack . . .

Kate helped me with chores . . .

Molly rides her bike EVERY spare second she can - love watching
her joy with her new independence!

Kate is loving her "new" bike/Molly's old balance bike
and can already balance like a pro!

Our 1st sprinkler run of the season - was a little chilly!

Daddy and Molly went on a bike ride in the 'hood!

We went to the Cure' of Ars Art Show - Molly loved seeing her friends - this is Molly with Lucy who she has known since she was a baby!

Molly and her good friend, Allie

The Dennos came to visit for the week from Denver - so much fun!

These two girls are so close still (friends since they were barely 2),
despite the distance from Denver to KC!

Kate Lately . . .

I just push my belly button and then I turn into a super hero.

Does Super Girl wear panties?

Did you know I only like dogs with floppy ears?  Dogs with floppy ears are the nice ones.

I like to wear my hair down because when I run real fast it moves around a  lot.

Splashing in puddles is my talent.

Mom, I don't want to live with you anymore because you don't cook food I like. But it's OK because I'll probably see you someday in Heaven, OK?

What is for dinner?
Mom: "Chicken Tacos"
COOKED chicken!?!?! But I don't like cooked chicken.

Can I decorate my taco now?

Can I have some of that seaweed (cilantro)?

Le'ts have silly time.

Will you make a sign that says ONLY my friends can come in my room?

Oh No! My Guardian angel is missing!  It's OK, I will pray to Jesus tonight and he will help me find her.

Mom, will you rock me for all the time?

Waving to Molly at drop off at school - She didn't wave back to me but it's OK - I still love her.

When Baby Maddy was in my tummy, she kicked me a lot during this song 'cuz she loves this song.

Mom: "Kate, why did you steal your sister's favorte chap stick from her room?"
Because I wanted to put it ON my lips!

Molly: "Mom, will you put an Elsa braid in Kaya's hair?"
Mom: "I will try but her hair isn't that long so it might be hard."
Kate: It's OK Mom, just always try your best!

Mom, you have a BEAUTIFUL smile.

Molly McGinnis - Guest Reader at Preschool

When Kate and I went to Ward Parkway last month to enroll Kate in Preschool next year (gulp!), we stopped by Molly's old classroom to say Hi to Mrs. Beck & Mrs. Lukens. They asked how Molly was doing and if she'd ever like to be a "Mystery Reader" someday in their classroom. (Knock on the Door and they guess who it is- usually a parent)

I asked Molly that night and she was SO excited to do it - then we forgot about it - and I asked her again last week if she was still interested and she couldn't wait - and wanted to bring the whole class cookies as a treat.  She picked out a book she thought was appropriate - "On the Way to Kindergarten" as she said, "They are going to go to Kindergarten in just a few months!"

She did such a great job!  I told her she didn't need to show the pictures if she didn't want to - but she insisted on reading upside down so they could see the pictures. Afterwards - the kids asked her questions about Kindergarten and Molly gave them some great advice. It was cuter than cute.

Last Couple Standing Competition

Mike and I had so much fun Saturday night with 25 other couples in the Cure' of Ars Cafeteria for the 1st Annual Last Couple Standing Competition!  We started with BBQ dinner (BYOB) and then we had a Newlywed Game competition (ask Mike what his favorite candy bar is!) and then physical competitions between the couples. It was truly a blast - mainly because of all the super fun friend who joined us!  Afterwards, we all went to our nearby neighborhood bar - Conroy's to sit outside on the gorgeous deck and have some beers!

Lunch with Molly at Cure' of Ars!

I brought Molly lunch to school today and surprised her with her favorite sandwich - salami, red onion and pickles on sourdough bread.  (Can't wait to see what she eats when she is pregnant someday!)It was SO MUCH FUN!  Molly was grinning from ear to ear the entire time - she's the sweetest.

All the kindergartners eat at the same time, and I learned that Molly's class - all the girls sit at one table and the boys at another table all together.

They were cracking me up with all their questions shooting at me like rapid fire - "I like your necklace, I have one kind of like it but smaller." "Did you know we have a new baby?" "Why can't Molly wear shorts to school yet??" "Do you know my Mom?" "Where is little Kate???" "You bring the BEST lunches!" "Did you know my Mom is out of town for work so my friends are picking me up from school today?"

I love all her friends so much - they are just the sweetest girls.  I can't wait to watch them all grow up together!

Faster Than a Speeding Bullet . . .

Kate wears her Super Girl costume (Molly's old Halloween costume) EVERY day. She loves playing Superheros  and saving people!  She tells me to say, "I think I just saw Super Girl flying by!"
