We joined all of Mike's family for a 4 day weekend in Omaha this past weekend. We had a great time and the days flew by. We managed to pack in a visit to the zoo (see post below), playtime at the park, lots of fort building and block stacking, bike riding . . . and a few beers with Mike's childhood buddies!

Molly loved playing blocks with Grandpa Pat!

We celebrated Grandma's birthday on Saturday night! Aunt Kathy made a home-made cheesecake that was delicious!!

Happy Birthday Grandma Pat!

Molly helped Grandma open up her gifts . . .

We love playing at the playground just a few blocks from Grandma & Grandpa's house! I love this pix, as this is classic Molly right now - playing with the rocks/sand or stacking it on the steps.

Hi everybody!

Vaughn, Mike and I climbed the giant spider web . . . so fun!

Mike's friend, Tony, joined us at the park with his little girl, Sophia - just 10 months old and sooo sweet!!

Mike and I joined his buddies out one night for beers - these are the guys he has known since 1st grade. (l-r) John Murnane, Mike, Andy Noon, Tony Mainelli. We always LOVE seeing them when we are in Omaha - and they visit us in KC as they can as well . . . wish we could see them every weekend - they are like brothers and I always love hearing their stories.

Aunt Kathy taught Molly and Vaughn how to make home-made popsicles!

Grandma read lots of books to Molly and when she would finish a book - Molly would say, "More books!!"

Grandma playing the piano with Vaughn and Molly. Notice Molly is having baby "help" by playing the keys as well with baby's hands.

Singing and playing . . .

We celebrated a belated Father's Day with Grandpa Pat!

We even had a superhero pinata for Grandpa - Vaughn busted it open and inside were little slips of paper, each of us wrote our favorite qualities about Grandpa Pat.

Molly gave LOTS of hugs all weekend to everyone!

Vaughn built some pretty amazing and big forts . . . Molly was scared to go in them at first, but if Vaughn held her hand she would go in with him! Vaughn was very patient with her all weekend - especially when she would crash his forts and tear them down accidentally.

Mike and I took a walk over the river one night on this foot bridge - to check out the flooding waters. I-29 was flooded so we took an alternative route to Omaha - adding about 90 minutes to our drive each way. Feel so bad for all those people losing their homes and farmland. We saw a lot of devastation on our drive north.

What a fun weekend with the McGinnis Clan!
