A Girl & Her Ring . . .

Kate just recently learned to grasp her rubber teething ring and then - a few days later - learned to bring it to her mouth.  She is SO proud!  It's SO FUN to see her grow daily right now!

The Park in January!

We had a fabulous weather weekend for late January in Kansas City and we couldn't resist making a couple trips to the park!  *Counting down the days until Spring - 53*

Molly Lately . . .

(Molly is covering her eyes with one hand while she draws a picture for me with the other hand).  I ask, "Why are you not looking at the picture you are drawing for me?"
Molly:  Because it's a surprise for me too!

I was nursing Kate in the living room while Molly was throwing the ball up in the air and it almost hit Kate's cheek as it fell back down.  I told her not to throw the ball in the house. Molly immediatly replied, Mom, I wasn't throwing the ball in the house, I was just putting the ball in the sky!

I try not to eat dairy or chocolate right now since I am nursing and it adversely affects Kate.  Molly must be noticing this - as the other day while eating she declared - My breasts don't really like the hamburger, so I can't eat that right now. 

Molly noticed Mary Lou Retton on the back of the Wheaties box the other morning at breakfast and was asking Daddy about her - so Mike showed her a video of Mary Lou winning the gold medal at the Olympics on You Tube.  A couple weeks later we were taking a walk in the stroller with both girls and Molly started screaming, That's the house that Mary Lou Retton lives at!  It took me a few minutes to see why she would think that - and then I noticed the huge American flag proudly waving in front of the house.

We were blessed to have our family and friends join us to witness Kate's Baptism and then celebrate with us afterwards!  One of my all time favorite  things about being Catholic is the Sacraments and Babies at Baptism!  Kate's little head smelled of the holy oils that were poured over her  - and it might just be my favorite smell ever . . .

Kate's Sacrament of Baptism

Kate was baptized into the Catholic Church at 1:30 this afternoon at the same church (St. Agnes) where Mike and I got married 5 years ago and where Molly was also baptized! It was a bitter cold January day - but we certainly all felt warm inside with our friends and family to celebrate!
