Memorial Day Weekend, 2022

 

It's Summer! It's a holiday weekend (remembering the brave!)

We celebrated all weekend long!

I put the flags up Friday afternoon, just in time!

Kate was showing me all her "swing tricks" while I was hanging the flags . . .

Mike and I went to see Top Gun, Maverick! It was SO GOOD! Highly recommend seeing in the theatre and if you can, an IMAX theatre for an AWESOME experience!!

I dressed up like "Charlie Blackwood!" 

I actually changed shirts before leaving the house, LOL

Channeling my inner Kelly McGillis from the 80's . . .

I painted Molly's desk and Bear "helped."

Speaking of Bear, he likes to cuddle in the mornings 

with anyone who is willing to cuddle a little longer . . .

Molly had a friend stay the night to kick off the weekend, and we all went Dairy Queen - Bear got his first vanilla pup cup from DQ and he LOVED it!

Kate painted a rainbow - 

The neighbor girls were in/out of the house which I love.

We went to the pool!

The rock wall is a new feature this year and the 

girls climbed up it over and over again . . .

Zip line is fun too!

Impromptu dinner with the Dorings and Schlick's . . .

The 10 kids got in a huge water gun fight . . .the girls were soaked.

A gorgeous night with friends . . . 

Bear joined me for a long hike Monday morning . . .

First Road Trip of the Summer! (Omaha)

 

First 3 day weekend road trip of the summer! Jeff, Anne + Charlotte stayed with us Friday night and then we all road tripped up to Omaha together Saturday morning!  

Was wonderful to have 3 days of family time together.

The weather was GORGEOUS in Nebraska.

Bear's cousins, Rosie, came along for the road trip.

Mike and I explored Old Market in Omaha on Sunday afternoon with the girls.

Soda at the candy shop.

Just love the old architecture in Old Market.

Sunday night, we explored some parks near McGinnis' home.

We had a few pull up contests, the 4 of us. I was beaten, badly.

And some crazy games of playground tag the girls taught us.

Even found some cool new hiking trails before sunset.

Monday night we were home and we were EXHAUSTED!

Kate laid down next to Bear and covered him with a blanket as well.

Bring on SUMMER!

School's Out for Summer!!!!

When school got out at 10:00 am yesterday, everyone 

gathered at the park to celebrate with donuts and more!
