Pandemic Life . . .

Had some dear friends over Friday night to toast to Fall!

It was a cozy, perfect Fall night!

Katie Rose Hennes had her First Communion at St. Anne's and we were so happy to get to go to the ceremony, with masks, of course!

Face time with both sets of Grandparents is a regular addition to our Covid Life . . .

Tomatoes are hanging on . . . still have about 30 on the vines!

Autumn is Here!

My favorite time of year is here!

I had a few good friends over to celebrate Fall's arrival last night - to toast that we've made it through 7 months of this crazy pandemic and cheers to making the most of this unusual time! I didn't serve food, because of COVID - but we had plenty to drink!

 What a GORGEOUS few weeks we have had!!! School is back and we are in a routine again and the girls are SO happy to be back to school in person!!

Fun Fridays have started again after school on Fridays as had last fall . . .

Mike and I built a door together!

This is our old one - with lots of wood rot. Our house is old and the door was a unique size, so would have been a custom door order (very expensive). So we (mainly Mike) built our own!

I was just in charge of priming, painting and hardware selection - but Mike cut it and made this big piece of wood into a door!

Not bad if I do say so myself - and MUCH cheaper!

2nd Grade - a brief respite from their masks, when they eat their sack lunch outside every day!

Did I mention the garden was plentiful!? So blessed.

Still love reading with the girls every single night. Kate still sleeps with her pretend puppy whose breath goes up and down like a real dog. 

Our Anniversary!

It's been 13 years since 09.08.07. We were more excited than ever to celebrate as had not had a REAL DATE NIGHT since COVID hit in March! The girls went to stay the night at the Hennes overnight and they were ecstatic to spend time with their cousins! 

Mike and I went on a long bike ride, then showered and then enjoyed dinner on the patio at one of our favorite restaurants in KC! The weather was wonderful, just like on our wedding day! The next morning, we went to McClains to grab a coffee/tea together outside before picking up the girls! So grateful for our marriage and partnership! No one I'd rather go through a long Quarantine with!!

I wore the same shirt I was wearing when we met over 15 years ago!
