The First Week of Fall . . .

Bear loves being very near us when we're working . . .

I got to join both girls for PE class this week! It was SO MUCH FUN!
We played Kingpin which is a mix of Dodge Ball, Bowling and
Tag. It was so fun playing parents against kiddos!

I had a night out with friends - and our fire got a bit out of control. Ha!
Had to take a pix!

Kate is still "collecting treasures." This week she saw some "perfectly good erasers" in the classroom trash can so she dug them out to bring home to make "fake snow."  Of course.

Bear is still quite lovable and cuddly.

Friday morning, Molly was sent home to Quarantine for 6 days as there was a positive Covid case in her homeroom. She was so sad when I picked her up to miss all sports and fun activities with friends all weekend, but she knows this is the new "normal."

Then, by 6:30 p.m. that night - she felt HORRIBLE. It came on so quickly. Her whole body ached, she was extremely fatigued, has low grade fever and zero appetite. So, I gave her an at home Covid test and within 10 minutes it was quite obvious - she too had Covid and the rest of us were now to Quarantine over the weekend and beyond . . .

Sunday Funday!

Mike + Kate went to the afternoon Royals game to cheer on our Boys in Blue!

Of course, he spoiled her with Dippin' Dots!

Molly and I went to the Brookside Art Fair together -
it was a beautiful afternoon!

We found our neighbor and friend's booth! Our favorite local painter!

Volleyball, Soccer, Volleyball - Repeat

Another FUN Saturday going to all the sports with the girls!

We started early with Kate's volleyball game!
Love watching these little 3rd graders playing volleyball!

Then rushed to the soccer field for soccer! She played at 12:00 and it was 90 degrees!
We are ready for Fall weather for sure!

Then, to another Catholic school for Molly's volleyball doubleheader - back to back games!

And I got to hold Donnelly's #5 baby! Isn't he the cutest?!!
He fell asleep in my arms!!

Molly scored the last 5 points of the game to win it!

A friend recorded this - as I was holding the baby (duh!)! This was after a couple points had already been scored and Molly went for it to win the game!!! So exciting!

The Carnival is Back!

We had not been to the school carnival in 3 years! We were in Colorado, then I was in Nashville for a work conference and then last year was cancelled due to Covid. So, the girls were COUNTING down the days to this year's all school carnival!  We ate dinner before we went to avoid germs - and were ready to ride everything all night long!

They quickly found all their friends and I was able to
just volunteer at the popular Cake Walk stand as they certainly don't need me to
walk around with them anymore (sniff sniff) -

Mike walked up with Bear after work to spread smiles and hugs!

Bear is truly everyone's Best Friend!

3rd Grade Girls - Victoria, Ruby, Harper, Kate

The Dolphin Girls!?

6th Grade Girls: Margaret, Molly, Vivian, Anna

Kate's teacher was such a good sport getting in the dunk tank!

Kate and her friends were so eager to get their turn to dunk their teacher!

This face looks a bit ornery to me!

And she did it - her own way!

Friday Afternoon . . .

The girls didn't have school today due to teacher in service hours. So we had a laid back day at home with a long walk with Bear to the park and apple pie baking!

Our Week in Pictures . . .

Mike surprised after school on Monday with a volleyball net set up in our driveway! He dug holes in the ground for the poles and everyone was so excited!

The perfect flat surface for them to practice - and if the ball rolls down the hill it's not too fast with the grass slowing it down.

Kate dressed up for the match - complete with sunglasses, water bottle and a gym bag.

Kate got braces! She got an expander put on the roof of her mouth in late July that we had to turn for 2 weeks. She still has that in her mouth - but now a band of braces on her top 4 teeth as well. A bit of pressure but she is so excited!

The last tomatoes of my summer garden - fall garden updates coming soon . . .

Kate babysat for the neighbors cat while the neighbors were out of town.

Molly is always cooking, baking, etc. in the kitchen. Sometimes I am shocked by how tall she is and how long her legs are when I walk in the kitchen.

My view of Kate doing "work" at her desk while I wait to read with her at night . . .
She loves her head lamp from Dad!

Kate's latest work from school -

Kate playing new song she learned
on the piano called "Swirling Leaves"
