First Day of 3rd + 6th Grade!

New tennis shoes, new backpacks and fresh hair trims. They've met their teachers and purchased all the school supplies. Cinnamon rolls for breakfast while Jack Johnson "We're Going to be Friends" is playing on the speaker. Molly slipped a tie on Bear for the occasion and we were off for back 2 school pictures!

1st Day of 6th Grade for Molly. Homeroom teacher is Mr. Patterson. She switches classes this year so an exciting change!

1st Day of 3rd Grade for Kate. She has Ms. Patterson (Molly's teacher's sister!). She is excited as this is the teacher she wanted!

Ms. Patterson gave Kate bubbles to blow for good luck on the first day!

I LOVE Kate's new school shoes! Vintage style Nikes . . .
reminds me of my childhood in the 80's.
Wish they came in my size!

Goodbyes to Bear . . .

Kate + Victoria . . .

Back 2 School Prayer Service in the Gym . . . turn up the volume!

Welcoming to Cure'!

The girls and I were in charge this year of Welcoming new families to Cure' of Ars! 100 families total coming to Kindergarten or Transfers! We had a couple playdates at our house, delivered signs, gave out cookies and more! It was super fun and got us excited for the school year too!

Bear helped too . . .

Last Days of Summer Break . . .

The Dunns hosted a fun Back 2 School 3rd Grade Girls Sprinkler Party!

Bear likes to lay on our mats when we do yoga and be super close . . .

The Zinneas are beautiful!

Molly got to go to the lake with her friend Maureen and
went tubing for the first time! She LOVED it!!!

Kate made more "things" out of boxes . . .

And forced Bear to let her give him tours of everything she creates . . .

End of summer "tea" parties (lemonade + cheeze its)

Going to miss my early morning walks with Bear once school starts . . .

Holocaust Exhibit at Union Station

The traveling Holocaust Exhibit, Auschwitz, is currently at Union Station in KC and Mike and I bought tickets a few months ago so as not to miss the opportunity to share this important time in history with the girls. Molly has read the "Diary of Anne Frank" and they know bits and pieces but this would be more visual for them.

It was a fantastic exhibit - so thorough and organized. Very hard to walk through but also very interesting. Took us two hours to walk through it all with the girls.

Afterward, we chose to celebrate our freedoms and grab
a BBQ lunch while in the Freight House District.

Was fun taking the rail system and being downtown on this late summer Monday . . .

Love all these kiddos!
