Thanksgiving in Omaha!

We drove back to KC from McPherson Wednesday afternoon in time to do a quick load of laundry and re-pack for Omaha for Thursday-Sunday!  Mike joined us for this half of break as his clinic was closed Thursday and Friday!

Charlotte (9.5) + Kate (10) love playing with Charlotte's dog, Rosie.

The weather was gorgeous on Thanksgiving day in Omaha and Mike
put together an elaborate Scavenger Hunt for the younger girls to do -
they were screaming as they ran from clue to clue.

The Irish cousins found the treasure!

Anne is such a great cook and made these delicious sweet potatoes!

Jeff taught all the girls how to play checkers!

While Molly and I were shopping on "Black Friday" - Charlotte and Kate
made this fun movie preview on their computer. Turn the volume way up!

On Saturday, Mike and I took the 3 girls ice-skating - which has become
somewhat of an Omaha tradition now . . .

Christmas music was playing and it really got us in the holiday spirit . . .

Thanksgiving in McPherson!

A Thanksgiving Feast all together on Tuesday this year (instead of traditional Thursday). We were missing Mike and Mom with us - but we still had our fun.

While Grandpa Don and Uncle Mark were golfing, the rest of us made all the side dishes Tuesday afternoon. Brian + Lucas made the mashed potatoes.

Sarah and I poured the wine. ;)

Molly made name tags . . .

I roasted the turkey . . .

Kate was in charge of Pomegranates

Sarah made the delicious salad, and I roasted the carrots and sautéed the green beans.
Lucas made the gravy.

Dad got home just in time to carve the turkey for us!

It was so fun with all of us in the kitchen together making everything together - a memory I'll never forget!

The girls were patiently waiting . . .

Sister Cousins.

Sarah also made Grandma Linda's delicious cranberry apple bake.

Our grateful tree - not enough leaves
for all that we are grateful for this year.

Patiently waiting -

Mom was with us in spirit- I'm sure of it.

Sister Love.

Lucas (18) and Molly (13)

Kate (10) Izzy (13)

Grandpa Don and his Grands . . .

Lots of card playing . . .

Ornery grin of someone beating his grandkids.

We tried on Grandma's beautiful coats . . .

Oh how Grandma JoJo would have LOVED this picture.
All 3 girls in her beautiful camel coats . . .

Some of us did this crazy cup challenge!

Izzy was a rock star at it!

Over the River + Through the Woods

The girls and I were the first to arrive in McPherson for an early Thanksgiving with the Reichenberger crew!  (Mike had to work Tuesday and Wednesday so he stayed home with Bear.)

We immediately went to the grocery store to stock up on all the things for our big meal, and made a chocolate cream pie and a pumpkin pie while Grandpa was golfing!

Went for a long walk with Brian, just like we have oh so many times this fall together in McPherson. Cherish these walks and talks . . .

Leaves are no longer on the trees as they were in September, when caring for Mom.

The Provinos arrived shortly after us and the next morning we hit downtown Main Street with the girls! We missed having Mom with us . . .

Cutie patootie Isabella

Small town girls!

Spotted - and loved.
