Sister Love During the Time of Corona

There have been quite a few blessings we have experienced living through this Pandemic of Covid-19. One of the most obvious ones has been how very close the girls have gotten, having only each other to rely on this year as play-dates and gathering with friends have been very few and far between. They've always been close - but this year it has gone to another level.

Molly was able to have a couple of school friends over to stay the night for her 11th birthday this fall and Kate was helping her decorate. Molly was frustrated with how the basement appeared and didn't look very festive. Kate ran to her own bedroom and grabbed her 3 FAVORITE things from it and gave them to Molly to decorate with, including her lucky horseshoe and favorite Nashville drink coaster.
It was the kindest gesture and Molly was so kind in return, accepting it with a smile (even knowing it was not quite her taste).

Playing one of their many games lately . . .

Molly + Kate turned their play-room into a "hang out" room, much more "grown up", they said.
And turned the little corner nook into a Sleepover Room.

So cozy!! They both agreed they slept better together in here than in their own beds in their rooms!

A note Kate wrote to Santa . . .

They recently decided to interview each other about what they would each like in their ideal dream home someday - then the proceeded to draw and design the dream home for each other. It was so fun watching them create and design for each other.

Another day, they created parties for each other with surprises . . .

This invite from Kate made me laugh - "gifts necessary"

Merry Christmas!

 HOPE.

Jesus is born today and HOPE is brought to ALL!

We had a simple, cozy Christmas - just the 4 of us.
We zoom'd with our family members we couldn't see this holiday season, played with new
toys and read new books. We had lots of yummy food and candy and sweets!
Wishing a very Merry Christmas to all our family and friends!

Finally! It's Christmas Eve!

Bear was so excited for his first Christmas Eve!!!

We were SO excited to get to go to Mass in person at 4:00 p.m.

We were there 75 minutes early as they were only allowing the church to be at 30% capacity.

We were the first to arrive for our mass time - and it was wonderful to sit in the quiet church on Christmas Eve after not being able to be physically in the church for several weeks. We wore masks, of course.

The girls were excited to make our traditional Monkey Bread for breakfast Christmas morning!

They also wanted to make sure the chimney flu was open for Santa!

Bear is always in on the action -

Matching PJ's this year with Bear . . .

So much love for this puppy around here . . .

He's been a huge blessing to us in 2020!

Notes and cookies out for Santa!

"How old is Mrs. Claus? What is her favorite outfit?"

So grateful for God's blessings!!!

Winter Solsticing!

It was the most gorgeous 1st Day of Winter we've had in many years!
63 degrees and gorgeous!

The girls ran outside to hang up their hammocks and enjoy the weather!

Sisters are hilarious.

Bear loved the extra walks . . .

A rare outing to an outdoor Hot Cocoa Bar after dinner!

With fake snow blowing everywhere!!

And the perfect "Bethlehem Star" sighting is the perfect Christmas surprise for 2020. God reminds us to have HOPE. Especially in this last week of Advent as we prepare our hearts for Jesus' birth.
