Cure' of Ars Talent Show - Molly + Anna

To celebrate the end of a festive Catholic Schools Week, Cure' of Ars has a Talent Show for the whole school. Molly and her friend Anna made up a dance routine at recess the past few weeks to perform in it to "Hey, Look Ma' We Made It."
We had never seen it as they made it up at recess, so I was happy they invited the parents to watch all the kids perform today. I was in AWE of the amount of courage and talent all these kids have. To get up in front of over 800 kids (K-8th) and perform was so brave and these girls were confident, sure of themselves and rocked it! Their choreography was fabulous! Most of all - I loved seeing them have so much fun with it! The crowd went crazy for it!

Turn up the volume!

January Days . . .

70's Day at School
Peace, man. Make Love, Not War.

Mrs. Wilcox' 1st Grade Class . . .

One snowy cold day, the girls put together a Spa for me in their bedrooms - it was the sweetest.

This was the "waiting room" at Molly's spa . . . complete with magazines and a candle burning. Molly "specialized" in hair styling.

Kate was checking me into her section of the Spa - she "specialized" in massage and aromatherapy.

Valentine touches are popping up around the house . . .

Almost every "game night" ends with the girls tackling Dad . . .

Kate marking days off her calendar . . .

Molly "patiently" waiting for Kate to finish piano lessons for her to have her turn . . .

A Date night with Mike and friends was just what we needed after so many snow days . . .this was the BEST drink I've had in years - so so good.

Out with the Schlicks and Treemans . . .

Molly helping with petitions at Mass on Sunday . . .

A Snowy Day

Our weekend plans were all cancelled - snow started falling Friday evening and fell all night and all day Saturday.  It was WONDERFUL.

We had LOTS of hot cocoa and stayed cozy inside.

The girls played "SISTERS Restaurant" and served a yummy brunch on Saturday morning . . .

French Toast Roll Ups (a new item)
Scrambled Eggs
Orange Water (?), Milk, Hot Cocoa, Tea or Coffee

Lots of sledding, of course!

Molly set up "Blaire" to watch them from inside.

They can last for hours in the cold . . .

Did I mention we made LOTS of hot cocoa?!

When you look up the definition of "rosy cheeks" in Webster's Dictionary - this is what you will find -

Kate Lately . . .

At the Omaha zoo in July - we were in the bat cave where it smells pretty bad. Kate asked if I would hurry out with her - and when we got out she said,
Ah, that's better. It just smells like horse manure now and I love that smell.

At t-ball game,
If I gallop like a horse I get to base so much faster than if I just run to the bases.

Molly was being a Mommy's helper for a family friend this summer and we were driving to pick her up,
I wish Molly was in a different family so she could be a Mommy's helper to me, sometime.

My new friend Lucy told me that TV can turn your brain to mush! One time at school she said she learned a LOT of new stuff and that night she watched so much TV and the next day she couldn't remember any of it!

Did you know Joey's real name is Joseph?
Mom: "Oh, just like Jesus' Dad?"
No, just like his STEP dad. His real dad is God.

Tucking Kate into bed the week of her birthday,
Mom, will you please just tell me the color of my birthday present?
Mom: "Sure, Kate - it is silver."
Ohhhhh, is it num-chucks?

Reading a book, Kate asked us, What's a boomerang? I explained that it comes back to you when you throw it. Well, that's impossible. It must be electronic for it to know where you are to come back!

Does LOL mean "love our life"?

While coloring,
I would have such a good life if I just had a good purple marker right now.

After having a babysitter the night before,
Mom, Cappy's jacket was a size 8 and she is 23!!

I am really trying not to think about Joey, Mom. I am trying to focus at school, like you told me to. It's like hard to explain. It's like my brain doesn't like him but my body (heart) likes him.

Gave a cupcake she made to Rocky our elf and said to him,
Here's a cupcake for you to share with Santa or I guess you can keep it for yourself, but have a good heart when you make your decision.

We were all singing Christmas songs in the car with other kids in our car too- everyone happy and joyful. Out of nowhere from the way back, Kate says,
So, do you think it was scary living when the Nazis were alive?

While I was driving the car and (obviously) facing forward with Kate and Molly in the back seat car seats,
Mom, you just spit on me.

Mom, the bottom of your foot feels like the top of queso. You the know the thin layer of the top of the dip that dissolves when you dip a chip in it and stir it around?

If I had a body part I was not fond of, it would be my nose. However, I've never mentioned this to anyone especially not the girls. One night, while cuddling, Kate was stroking my nose from the side and said,
Mom, you have the most beautiful nose. It is so smooth and has so much love coming out of your nostrils.
