Halloween 2014

I had no idea who the girls were going to dress up as at 3:00 on Halloween afternoon - Molly told me they both were going to surprise me. We have plenty of dress-up clothes in our house these days - so I told them to use something we have - Molly was a Pirate Fairy yesterday for her school party so I assumed she would do that again!  Molly came down in her Anna costume (from Frozen) and asked me to braid her hair in "Anna braids" - she looked adorable and was so excited! I love that in a world full of girls wanting to be Elsa - Molly chose Anna, the kind younger sister in the movie!  Then she told me Kate wanted to be "Dorothy." I had them pose for me on our front porch before we loaded up in the car to Trick or Treat with our old neighborhood friends.  I promised them, since we moved 3 weeks before Halloween that we would come back to celebrate on Clark Drive this year.

First house we went to was our good friend Madelyn across the street from our old house - the girls were so excited to see each other!

The girls - ready to go!

You can see our old house in the background of Kate's pix - we went to visit Tami, who bought our house and she gave us a tour and had special Halloween treats just for Molly & Kate.

It was the coldest Halloween we've had in their young lives - so we didn't last long - and Kate wanted to be carried a lot. But they were still so excited - such a fun holiday when you have little ones - to see the excitement in their eyes as they run from house to house with the neighbor kids is truly priceless!

It was COLD!

My hot cocoa (with Baileys) kept me warm, along with Kate's little hand!

We returned to our new house to hit a few houses  . . .

Coming home . . . love traditions - especially traditions with these little ones!

Happy Halloween!

Kate - "Preparing" for Halloween!

Kate was so excited all week for Halloween - her 1st time ever to get to go Trick or Treating!  Her big sister told her all about it, so she wanted to practice - a LOT. She kept pushing me into the bathroom and shutting the door so she could "practice."
I had to grab the video camera finally as it was just too funny!

Preschool Halloween Party & Parade!

Love the tradition of the Annual Halloween Parade at Molly's Preschool!

Molly dressed at Pirate Fairy for it!

Molly's entire Pre-K class, including her teachers
who dressed at "Tooth Fairies"!

Molly and I made "ghost" pretzels for the party!

Fall Dance Recital!

Molly takes Tippi Toes Dance class after school on Thursdays and loves it!  Today they invited the parents to see them perform a few dances  - a casual Fall recital of sorts - it was too cute!!

Playdate at New House!

We had the Dennos over for our 1st Playdate at our new house this week - as we know the sooner we fill it up with friends and memories, the sooner it will feel like HOME!  The girls had fun making Halloween pictures and dressing up - and Kate had fun playing with Baby Maddy - she is OBSESSED with babies!

Chasing Rainbows . . .

We certainly had a fun October, watching our beloved KC Royals in the World Series! So proud of our boys in blue and so excited for Kansas City! All of the many fountains in KC turned BLUE and the girls and I had fun checking them all out - do you see the rainbow?
