Week in Pictures . . .

In Kansas City, we truly have 3 months of all 4 seasons.  We have HOT summers and COLD winters - but for 6 months of the year we have GORGEOUS Springs and Autumn.  And we are always so happy every 3 months when the seasons change - just when we are tired of the current weather!!  Fall has been wonderful so far - we've had a GORGEOUS September - Indian Summer for sure . . highs in the 70's just about every day.  We have been living outside -

Kate's "ornery" look - about to eat an acorn I think . . .

Kate wasn't too happy when she and I came inside for a little bit . . .

Molly is really excited to be SUPERGIRL for Halloween this year!!
Here's a sneak peak!

Show & Tell

Last Thursday, Molly's teachers gave her the All About Me Bag to return today filled with 5 things from home that she loves, to share with the class.  She was SO excited and has talked about it every single day over the last 6 days!  She was so excited to think of the perfect five things to  present to her class.  She couldn't wait to stand up and share with her friends at school.

First, on the list, was Kate.  She really wanted to bring Baby Kate to school as she said, "Kate is all about me - becuase I'm her big sister and I love her soo much!"  Well, we gave it a solid try this morning, but Kate kept crawling out of the bag.  And the rule is - you must be able to fit all 5 items in this bag.

Molly had another idea, How about I bring a picture of Kate to school instead?  Great idea!  Here are the 5 things she chose to share with her class today . . .

1.) Coleman kids lantern (battery operated) to share with her class the story about how we lost our electricity last Thursday night and Molly used this lantern all night long in the basement as it was very dark without her night light/sound machine.  Love hearing her say the word, electricity.  :)

2.)  New puppy named Raspberries.

3.)  Minnie Mouse - her very favorite doll over the last 12-18+ months.

4.)  Tinkerbell DVD - she says this is her favorite movie right now (although we have only watched once and she said she didn't like it at that time)

5.)  Photo of her and Kate.

So excited!!!!  Ready to go . . .

In the Moment . . .

Nothing makes your live in the moment more - than having children does.  You have no other option than to soak up life with them - because time most certainly does not stop (no matter how hard you wish it) and no where is that more evident than watching our babies grow and change daily.

After nursing Kate before bed - in her little sleep sack, sitting on my lap in her rocker, reading her favorite book - Goodnight Moon.  Love her little hands, ready to point at the pictures.

Let's Go Royals!!

Our beloved hometown baseball team is in the race for the Wild Card right now - and this has not happened in like over 10 years - so this is a big deal!  We are not fair weather fans, as we LOVE our Royals when they win and when they lose - pretty much on our TV almost every night in the Spring/Summer.  So, you can imagine how exciting this is at our house rihgt now!  Mike took Molly to the sold-out game this afternoon - it was a GORGEOUS late summer day and Molly was so excited to get a hot dog and ice-cream with her Daddy at the game!  She made this sign for the team - and held it up the ENTIRE game.  I think it brought them luck - as they won with a walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning!!!

Ready to go!

Plaza Art Fair . . .

A gorgeous fall Saturday and we anticipated it - cancelling all our plans and throwing away our To Do lists -  to enjoy the amazing weather together as a family at the Annual Plaza Art Fair!

Molly wanted to check out the Kids Art section shortly after we arrived - and was so excited to take a turn on the pottery wheel!

Kate LOVED all the live music and just wanted to dance!

The Kansas City Art Institute had a cool art project set up for the kids with string -

Kate passed out in the stroller at some point . . .

Checking out all the art . . .

We brought some fruit from home and bought BBQ sandwiches there - and found a shady spot for a little family picnic.  I told Mike, the smells of all the delicious restaurants booths on the plaza is one of my favorite things about the Art Fair every year!

Love the look on their faces when a stranger takes their pix!   "Who are you????"

Watching Kate closely - look at her little tiptoes - she was wanting to jump right in that fountain - I am sure of it.

St. Agnes was having their annual Fall Festival after mass last night as well - so we walked up to church and then stayed afterwards for dinner and games.  Such a fun family day!  LOVE this time of year!
