Recently I discovered Molly's hair is officially long enough for a ponytail! So, like any good mom, I propped her in front of ELMO while I practiced a few quick styles . . . oh the possibilities!

We are officially ready for Spring now!

Story Time at the Library

We have discovered the Plaza Library's Story Hour on Wednesday mornings. We read books and sing songs . . . this week they sang Molly's favorite song - "If you're happy and you know it" and she went nuts that the teacher knew her song!! We also love to read all the new books that we have not read before . . . what a magical place!

Early Spring!

This week in Kansas City we were blessed with GORGEOUS Spring weather. Highs in the 60's and Thursday the temperature got up to 74! Molly and I took a long walk to the park and had to take our sweaters off when we got there it was so warm! All our snow finally melted and you could feel the Spring energy in the air!

An old neighbor and dear friend, Angela, came over this week for a play-date with her 2 youngest. She has 4 kids total (Clayton, Jack, Ethan & Lily) Oh how I wish we were still neighbors!! I just adore Angela and her youngest, Lily, is just 6 months older than Molly. The girls had fun playing together . . .

Valentine's Day at the Park!

One of my favorite childhood memories is how "special" my mom made Valentine's Day every year. We always had dinner together every night at the kitchen table--but on Valentine's Day dinner was extra special. Mom would get out the red tablecloth and the table would be set extra fancy. She would have little candies waiting for us for after dinner at each place setting by our drink glasses. We each made home-made Valentine's for each other. Even my dad would make Valentine's for each of us kids--that was always so special to me. When you sat at the table, all the Valentines for you, were at the top of your place setting by your candy. It is a memory I've always cherished.

I can't WAIT to do the same thing with Molly as she gets older! Here are some images from Valentine's Day at our house this year . . . Happy LOVE day to all of you!!

Weston Date Night!

Mike and I had a babysitter come over and watch Molly yesterday afternoon and we drove to Weston, Missouri (about an hour drive from our house) to go TUBING at Snow Creek! Snow Creek is a ski resort on the bluffs of the Missouri River and neither of us had ever been! Our friends, Joanne & Patrick met us there and we had so much FUN tubing with them - of course, no ski resort would be complete without a hot toddy bar!

Having grown up learning to ski in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado - and having a sister who lives IN Breckenridge - I was more than a little skeptical. But, I have to admit it was a really fun option for those of us living in Kansas City - who only have time to drive an hour to have fun in the snow!

We were going REALLY FAST! I'm not exaggerating . . . . we were all screaming. The guy who pushes you at the top would spin us super fast as he let go of us and we would spin like crazy down the hill. Such an adrenaline rush!

The sun was setting as we left Snow Creek and headed to our favorite Irish bar, O'Malley's in Weston to have dinner and hear some Irish music!

Our friends, Nunzia & Reggie, met us at O'Malleys too!

Such a fun afternoon & evening in Weston! We are so thankful for good friends this Valentine's Day!!
